Hello,
Welcome to our newsletter number 109
This year’s biggest combined exposition on printing & graphic arts, packaging, food processing, plastics and rubber opened at the Fiero di Milano Exhibition Complex in Milan, Italy on the 24th and runs till the 28th. This is the first time that the four major exhibitions Grafitalia - Converflex, IPACK-IMA and Plast are being organised concurrently under the umbrella of one event. Hitherto, each of these had been staged as an individual triennial event. During the exhibition, FAO is also staging an international congress on the role of food processing and packaging technology in the fight against world hunger.
IPP editor Naresh Khanna is at the show and will bring you first-hand coverage of the event. The first of his reports is included in this newsletter. As per the presentations made on the inaugural day, it appears that I
talian industry and graphic arts machinery manufacturers are not doing too badly despite the global economic meltdown and have actually recorded a growth during 2008 as compared to the previous calendar year. This is indeed good news.
