Welcome to the Indian Printer and Publisher online weekly news bulletin from the leading news source for the subcontinent’s printing and graphic arts industries. Sent to more than 6,000 professionals, this newsletter is the definitive guide to local and international industry news. This month we actually start our thirty-first year of publication -- Indian Printer and Publisher started in April 1979 as a 4-page technical newsletter with the article, “Computers and Indian language typesetting.”

As our industry goes from exhibition to exhibition, it seems that the next bit of travel madness is directed at China Print in Beijing from 12 to 16 May 2009. This newsletter initiates the China Print preview and we will be at China Print at the Independent Media Alliance’s collective stand. The IMA is a co-operative grouping of like-minded publishing hous es committed to sharing independent quality reporting. In addition to Patrick Howard’s Print 21 in Australia and New Zealand, members include Michael Seidl’s European-based PRINT & PUBLISHING International; Hye-Jeong Ahn’s Graphics World covering the east-Asian economies; and our own Indian Printer and Publisher and Packaging South Asia.
