Hello
Welcome to this week's Indian Printer and Publisher online weekly news bulletin. We still need more people to add newsletter@ippgroup.in to their address books. Otherwise there is a danger of the newsletter landing up in your junk folder. This week the London Book Fair starts up with India as the focus country and with an unprecedented number of 85 Indian exhibitors including 18 printers and publishing service providers. Of course the stars will be the 51 Indian authors who will be there. This newsletter contains an article by Urvashi Butalia describing the recent progress of Indian publishing.
Our latest information indicates as many as 800 Indians are planning to visit the China Print 09 exhibition in Beijing from 12 to 16 May 2009. We will be at China Print in full force as a part of the Independent Media Alliance collective stand, which is W2-222. The IMA is a co-operative grouping of
like-minded publishing houses committed to sharing independent quality reporting. In addition to Patrick Howard’s Print 21 in Australia and New Zealand, members include Michael Seidl’s European-based PRINT & PUBLISHING International; Hye-Jeong Ahn’s Graphics World covering the east-Asian economies; and our own Indian Printer and Publisher and Packaging South Asia.
