Hello

Indians seem interested in IPEX 2010

A poll on our website for the last three weeks asks readers if they are planning to visit IPEX. Although the sample is not huge, this poll has received a better response than earlier polls so it seems that IPEX and the issue of exhibitions is very much on the industry’s mind. Thus far 78% of those polled have said yes they will be attending IPEX, 9% have said no, slightly more than 3% have given it a maybe, and slightly more than 9% have indicated that exhibitions are losing their importance.

The figures have somewhat moderated over the last two weeks --in the first week, 98% of respondents said yes they would attend the exhibition. I must confess that the poll has surprised me -- and if it is an accurate indication of Indian visitor interest in IPEX (our website attracts considerable traffic from outside India as well), then exhibitors can expect good traffic from these parts.

I spoke with an industry vendor who seems optimistic too. “The economy is hot and the budget has just been tabled, the timing is just right. By the time of the IPEX the budget will be passed and the clarity of the industry going forward will increase,” he says. Why don’t you also add your vote to this poll on the bottom left of our homepage if you haven't already?
