Updates with IPP online ENL No.181
Aug 09, 2010

Hello

The past week witnessed two important publishing and printing events in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. The Publish Asia newspaper event celebrated the slight but continued growth of the Asian newspaper industry in a year that dailies faced huge difficulties in mature markets and global newspaper advertising revenues fell by 17 per cent. The other event was the KL Summit an International Printing Standards Conference that deepened the Asian discussion of the ISO 12647-2 standard which was held in conjunction with the Print Technology Expo 2010 at PWTC, also in Kuala Lumpur.

Other newsletter stories talk about newspaper press investments in China and Japan, sheetfed offset presses in South East Asia, and CtPs in North India. Publishing stories describe the Capexil meet in Kochi in Kerala and the CapeTown Book Fair, covered by Ron Augustin
