Ball Corporation To Set Up Plant In India

Ball Corporation, a leading US based can and plastics products manufacturer with revenues of US$ 6.6 billion in 2006, has announced that it is planning to set up a beverage can manufacturing plant near Aurangabad in India. The first manufacturing line will have a capacity to produce 600 million two-piece cans per year for existing and planned beverage can filling lines in India and is expected to be operational by mid-2009. The activities in India will be managed by their fully owned subsidiary Ball Packaging Europe. Ball and its licensees have already been exporting cans to India for several years to develop the market and to serve large customers who have beverage can filling lines operating here.
