Coding and marking Domino’s New V-Series Range
January 14, 2008

Domino Printing Sciences plc has recently introduced the VSeries, a new high quality thermal transfer overprinting (TTO) product range, providing clear legible codes for flexible packaging. Ideal for high volume packaging applications involving form, fill, seal machines and labellers. The current range consists of three printers - the V100, V200 and V400.

Achieving a print resolution of 300dpi, the V-Series is capable of applying high quality variable data including text, barcodes, Data Matrix codes and logos onto a wide range of flexible packaging materials, including films and paper. The range includes printers for use in either continuous or intermittent modes, which can be mounted on a variety of packaging machines including vertical or horizontal form, fill, seal machines, making the V-Series suitable for many key food and pharmaceutical applications.

Printer control and on-board label creation are provided by the V-Series controller, which can be networked for remote operation and is also compatible with a variety of external label creation and networking solutions. The V100 is a reliable high-speed printer, suited to intermittent applications and offering a large marking area.

High speed continuous applications are addressed by the V200, while the V400 is an intermittent motion wide area printer designed specifically for multi-lane applications. Both feature Domino’s patented Ribbon Economy feature, which allows ribbon savings of up to 25% on the V400 and 60% on the V200, without compromising print quality.

Uptime for the V200 is maximised by using the highest-capacity ribbon rolls currently available (up to 1400metres) and through Domino’s maintenance-free Dancing Arm technology, which prevents ribbon breakage even at the highest speeds. Ribbons for all V-Series printers are available in a variety of grades, colours and widths and provide excellent performance for a wide range of web materials and industry applications.

Seems to me this is nothing more than the pot giving an interview about the kettle.
