Manugraph profits up by more than 133 per cent

Shareholders get 100 per cent dividend 12Jul05

Manugraph the only printing press manufacturer in India that is publicly quoted on the stock exchange has announced very positive numbers again. The company is the leading manufacturer of web offset presses in India and it has developed a 55,000 copies an hour single width, single circumference web press that was first shown at drupa 04. The company also manufactures the Uniset 60 single width, double circumference press under license from the German manufacturer MAN Roland. Although Manugraph manufactures and sells a modern automated multicolour sheetfed press, the PrintMagic 74 as well, its focus over the last two years has been on web offset manufacture and sales, a market in which it is one of the recognized international exporters.

Manugraph’s audited financial results dated 29 June 2005, published in the Business Standard of 30 June, state that for FY 04-05 sales up to Rs. 247.96 crore (US$ 57 million) from the previous year’s Rs 202.59 crore (US $ 46.6 million), an increase of 22.4 per cent.

Total income including other income is Rs. 254.5 crore. The net profit in FY 04-05 is 29.53 crore (US$ 6.8 million), more than double the previous financial year’s Rs 12.68 crore (US$ 2.9 million). The net profit has increased by slightly more than 133 per cent.

Manugraph has already distributed an interim dividend of 40 per cent on shares of Rs. 10, and is paying out a final dividend of 60 per cent. The company is registered in Mumbai and its manufacturing plants and research and development facility are a short plane ride away in Kohlapur.
