Sun Chemical Screen’s 10-year partnership with Lüscher AG, a printing equipment company, will break new ground at FESPA 2007 with the launch of a new technology. Lüscher specialises in the development and production of qualitative, high-value mechanical and electronic solutions for offset, flexo and letterpress printing, as well as for digital large-format printing.
As distributor of Lüscher computer-to-screen (CTS) systems in the UK and Ireland, Sun Chemical Screen and manufacturer Lüscher, of Leutwil, Switzerland, will unveil Lüscher’s new CTS development, JetScreen DX.
Mike Farmer, equipment manager for Sun Chemical Screen, said that in developing the JetScreen DX, Lüscher has combined technologies for the market-leading CTS technology JetScreen WAX. Lüscher has more than 430 installations globally of the JetScreen WAX, and its world-renowned Xpose computer-to-plate (CTP) system has 850 systems installed.
Farmer said, “The result of Lüscher’s unrivalled knowledge of these two technologies is a true laser CTS system, which means no wax, higher screen rulings and an end to photographic film for stencil making. JetScreen DX is fully compatible with Sun Chemical Screen stencil emulsions and Sun Chemical Screen’s Sefar meshes. This means it doesn’t require special meshes or high-cost emulsions used by other CTS systems. All this means fewer changes to your screen-making processes.”
He added, “With image resolutions of 600dpi, 900dpi or 1200dpi currently available, and 2400dpi planned, Lüscher is simply light years ahead in computer-to-screen technology.”
