Atlas Printing is only the fourth or fifth largest press in Dubai. However, not having seen any of the others, our impression of their Dubai plant is that it is compact and yet contains a completeness and scalability for the kinds of work that it specialises in. The company has hitherto been known as one of the leading magazine printers in Dubai. For this it has a fleet of Heidelberg, manroland and KBA presses. An 8-colour Heidelberg sheetfed and a KBA Compacta 215 heatset web are the flagships of the operation. Other presses include a manroland 705 with coater and a Xerox digital press. Prepress is state of the art with a Fuji CtP as is the binding operation that can turn out 10,000 magazines an hour and 200,000 in a day. ...cont´d
