Benchmark study to assess newspaper requirements

April 24, 2006

A study is currently underway to identify more precisely what newspaper publishers expect from digital printing and related technologies. The research is based on interviews with senior management at daily and weekly national newspapers throughout Europe (including the UK) and Scandinavia. Digital Newsprint for Roaming Readers evaluates requirements for managed remote digital printing, and remote advertising models. It addresses the viability of current digital printing technology for newspapers, its possible benefits to advertisers, the technologies required to make on-demand newspapers commercially viable. It also looks at how newspaper publishers can serve roaming readers and how digital printing helps leverage web investments for remote market development. The study costs Euro 2000, or Euro 1700 for orders placed prior to publication in June. Details are available at www.digitaldots.org. ...cont´d
