Unlike Jaipur in the fog earlier this year, cancellations and delayed arrivals at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair were caused by human activity. British book professionals, commonly one of the largest contingents at the fair, were hindered by a three-day strike of British Airways cabin staff followed by a week of continued flight disruptions. A one-day baggage handlers’ strike at Bologna Airport completed the chaos. It looks like this is just the kind of stuff book fairs are made of, adding to the flavour of excitement. ...cont´d
