Last year at IppStar's October open house in Noida, Chitaranjan Dar of ITC Bhadrachalam (since renamed as ITC Paperboards and Speciality Papers Division) spoke not only about paperboard demand and quality issues with local printers and converters, but also of ITC P&SPD's investments in biotechnology, tree cloning and plantation. The company's idea is to reforest enough acreage to cover its raw material consumption in paperboard manufacture. Although ITC's seedlings may not actually be planted in the same forests from which the company eventually buys its raw material, the company will nevertheless achieve two objectives. ...cont´d
