New wage board for the Indian newspaper industry?

Will a new wage board for the newspaper industry be set up? And when? Although the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Jaipal Reddy, has indicated that he would be taking up this question with the Labour Ministry headed by Chandrasekhar Rao to recommend that this be done at the earliest, the fact is that some of the major newspapers – Bennett Coleman group led the way -- have for many years now tried to by-pass the very idea of a wage board by preferring to employ journalists on a contract basis. ...cont´d
