CtP sales in India — 250 per cent growth over last year expected

Newspapers — Krause and Agfa combine in strong showing for violetCreo, Screen and Altizen continue growth in thermal segment

Computer to plate caught on in India last year (the 02-03 financial year) with the sale of 10 CtP devices. Creo was the leader, last year with four installations, all of which at are commercial printers. Altizen and Screen had two each and there were single sales by Agfa, and Lithotech. Of the 10 CtPs sold all but one were thermal, the lone violet based machine a Lithotech bought by Crystal Dot Scan in Hyderabad. In fact five of the 10 installations were in Hyderabad in a year that was dominated by South Indian acquisitions of CtP. Including sales in Chennai and Sivakasi, 80 per cent of the CtP sales were in South India. ...cont´d
