Delhi 21 September 2010. Sitting on the verandah overlooking the noisy main road this morning we were reading through our slew of morning newspapers, having our cup of tea. It was a rainy morning and a startling squawking noise was heard. Was it people speaking loudly on the open terrace below? An insect? While reading about Kancheepuram silk getting protection on the front page of the Times of India’s second section, it turned out that the sound came from the back page. As it was unfolded and held up for reading, the newspaper starting talking – “The best in class German engineering is here. The new Volkswagen Vento built with great care and highly innovative features. Perhaps that’s why it breaks the heart of our engineers to watch it drive away.
