ECRM announced before Ipex06, that it has closed its agreement to acquire the polyester plate CtP product line of Esko Production A/s formerly known as EskoGraphics. This brings to full circle the process by which Barco Graphics merged with Purup-Eskofot and acquired Scanmate in the company that was known as Esko-Graphics. Since then the newspaper litho plate CtP division has been divested to Agfa, and the company has essentially reduced itself to a packaging software company that also sell the Kongsberg sample and sign making machines and the CDI digital flexo platemakers. Now what was left of the Scanmate and Purup-Eskofot imagers has gone to ECRM and Esko again becomes a mainly packaging software company.
