First day for book professionals

Cape Town Book Fair’s 5th anniversary

In the aftermath of the Soccer World Cup, the Cape Town Book Fair, or the Kaapse Boekeskou as it is called by the locals, attracted close to 45,000 visitors and a great deal of interest in African literature for young and old. For the first time in its five years of existence, the fair started with a trade day reserved for book professionals. More than 300 publishers, librarians, retailers and agents registered for the line-up of events on the day, including matchmaking sessions, seminars on rights and eBooks, and introductions to various African markets. ...cont´d
