The demand for gatefold covers in magazines are increasing the world over, since a lot of advertisement material is being printed in these covers. Looking at the market demand Wohlenberg introduced the “Foredge Trimming Device” [technically called VSS], during IPEX 2002, which has revolutionized the production of gatefold covers the world over. This innovation patented the world over is the best and easiest way to handle brochures with gatefold covers. In the past, binders were obliged to produce magazines in two passes – to mill and glue the magazine (the inside text pages or book) in the first pass and then cut the fore-edge of the book. In the second pass the covers were drawn and after the book was out of the binder the two sides were trimmed in a 3-knife trimmer. ...cont´d
