The company that is today known as Dainippon Screen started off as Ishida Gyokuzan Printing Works, not far from the present headquarters in Kyoto in 1868. In 1887 the press became a photolithographic pioneer. In 1934 the company manufactured the first glass screen for halftoning in Japan, and in 1943 it changed its name to Dainippon Screen Manufacturing Company. ...cont´d
