In February 2009, the Frankfurt Book Fair and the German Book Office in New Delhi organised  Globalocal — a Publishers’ Round Table aimed at the internationalization of publishing and also to highlight the importance of India in the global content scenario. The Globalocal symposium was a first step in an inclusive discussion on various outlooks in the industry. With the presence of many of the local industry’s articulate publishers and players as well as international participation from Argentina, the UK, Germany, Switzerland, China and the Arab World, the one-day round table was an extraordinary platform for the Indian subcontinent with discussion on content issues, the boom in book fairs, distribution, translation, new authors and the economy. ...cont´d
