India will be the Guest of Honour at the Turin Book Fair, which is to be held from 13 to 17 May 2010. With six pavilions covering 51,000 square metres, 1,400 exhibitors and close to 300,000 visitors during 5 days, the Turin Book Fair or Salone Internazionale del Libro de Torino is the largest and most important book fair in Italy and the Mediterranean region. It is held in the Lingotto building complex, which was once the largest car factory in the world and the cradle of car manufacturer Fiat. Its design, including a spiral ramp and roof-top test track constructed between 1915 and 1922, was lauded by Le Corbusier as an architectural masterpiece. ...cont´d
