The Indian manufacturers of single width single circumference web offset presses have been fueling the growth of the newspaper industry since the 1980’s. The Indian languages in particular have benefited from the advent of computerised typesetting, PostScript, and offset printing. From the 1990’s onward, the book publishing industry also began printing school textbooks on web offset and this too strengthened local manufacturers. The largest concentration of web offset manufacturers in the country is in the Delhi national capital region with major manufacturers in Faridabad, Ballabgarh, Gurgaon and Noida.
