Inkjet side by side with silkscreen at Fespa 2010

Of all technologies used in the graphic industry, inkjet and particularly wide format has shown the highest growth rates over the past few years. Nevertheless, according to InfoTrends, the wide format market contracted by 15 per cent worldwide over the past 12 to 18 months. And although there has been something like a modest economic upturn recently, Fespa 2010 wasn’t left untouched. With more than 700 exhibitors and 30,000 square metres of exhibition space one of the largest Fespa shows ever, visitor turnout stayed 10 per cent below that of three years ago: 21,672 as compared to 24,232 at Fespa 2007 in Berlin. Both exhibiting and visiting companies sent less personnel this time, and fewer people made more than one visit to the five-day show. Browsing for technologies at a trade show like this has obviously become less important, with more focus on cost efficiency and pre-scheduled meetings. ...cont´d
