Magazine design in Hindi, Gujarati and Marathi

Indian language magazines are to some extent more powerful than daily newspapers because magazines are read in the home and more women tend to read magazines as well and spend more time while reading them. However not just general and women’s magazines, but political magazines in our languages although embattled with new media, are doing well. India Today, Outlook, Maya and Grihshobha are powerful magazines in Hindi today. In Marathi, Lokprabha and Chitralekha in Gujarati are strong general periodicals. Grihshobhika in Marathi and Grihshoba in Gujarati, from Delhi Press are women’s magazines doing well with strong advertising support, which generally means that you have good readership. In addition to good circulation and ad revenues, these magazines contain good reader feedback columns. Ironically, India Today is flourishing in Marathi and Gujarati, although it is suffering in its flagship English edition. ...cont´d
