Riding the wave!

When did you last hear about a film being released in India in English and three Indian languages a month ahead of its US premiere? Tintin and the Secret of the Unicorn, the latest offering from Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, is releasing on 11th November across India (the US premiere is on 23rd December), even though it involves the risk of worldwide piracy. And that should give you some idea about how important India is for the Tintin industry, despite the fact that Tintin remains mostly unpublished in the major Indian languages (except in Bengali, and partly in Hindi). On the other hand, Sony Pictures India plans to release the film simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu (apart from English) on 11 November. ...cont´d
