Martin splicer automates Aquaflex for ITC Packaging and Printing

Tuesday May 18, Tiruvottiyur, near Chennai – ITC has become the first packaging printer in the country to install a Martin MBX automatic butt splicer. The Packaging and Printing Division of ITC recently installed the MBX splicer on an existing Aquaflex narrow web press. Martin splicers automatically change from an empty roll to a full roll without stopping or slowing the press, enabling printers to improve productivity and reduce both white and printed waste. At ITC, the MBX butt splicer unwinds and splices a web 476 mm (18.75 in) wide, of rolls up to 1830 mm (72 in) in diameter and at speeds to 150 mpm (500 fpm). ...cont´d
