Surprisingly the DI press is exactly 15 years old. Late in 1991 Heidelberg and Presstek showed a prototype press called GTO-DI. For the first time it was able to image litho plates directly on the press itself, hence the DI tag, which stands for Direct Imaging. ...cont´d
