Presstek increases marketing efforts in Asia

February 01, 2010

Presstek announced that it has formed a new legal entity, Presstek Asia Pte. Ltd., in order to improve Presstek’s support to its growing distribution channel in Asia and to further its strategy of international expansion. Featured products in the region will be Presstek DI digital offset presses, Presstek Aurora Pro chemistry-free CtP plates, and Presstek Aeon a high resolution non-preheat thermal CtP plate. Both Aeon and Aurora Pro are open platform plates that work on 830 nm platesetters. A range of 4-up and 8-up platesetters will also be marketed within the region.

“The formation of Presstek Asia helps to ensure that we can provide the best possible support for our partners and customers by having a stronger local presence,” said Tim Sawyer, Presstek’s Director for the Asia Pacific Region. “It also positions us to expand our organization by adding incremental technical and sales support for both CtP and DI solutions. In addition, Presstek will be adding distribution to support our CtP growth. By creating a more robust infrastructure in the region, we will be better positioned to support our partners and customers with our market-leading open platform digital plates and platesetter solutions.”

To support customer demand for demonstrations of Presstek DI solutions, Presstek has installed a 52DI digital offset press in the Singapore demonstration facility of Presstek distributor Cyber. Sawyer: “This facility will provide our customers throughout the region the opportunity to bring in test files, see the press in action, and have a hands-on experience with the 52DI to better understand how it can help their businesses be more capable, profitable and competitive.”
