Print journos head for the Ipex Media Summit

Exhibitors to share previews of latest developments

Wednesday, 3 February 2010. Companies including Canon Europe, C.P. Bourg, Domino Printing Sciences, Fujifilm Europe, Oce, Pitney Bowes, Red Tie, Ricoh and Xerox will speak to journalists from 100 global publications (Indian Printer and Publisher and Packaging South Asia’s assistant editor, Fayez Ali will be in attendance) at the four-day London event from 7 to 11 February. IPEX of course will take place at the NEC in Birmingham from 18 to 25 May 2010.

According to Trevor Crawford, Ipex 2010 event director, interest has been strong from media and suppliers alike. “We’re delighted with the level of interest in the Summit from exhibitors and the tremendous commitment from the international media,” he said. “In holding the event we’re able to further support our exhibitors in targeting the media with their key messages and providing the press with an exciting preview of what Ipex 2010 has in store.”

Jan Hol, Oce’s senior vice-president, marketing communications, hintedat more news from the company, which has been no stranger to the mediaspotlight after a proposed takeover by Canon was announced late lastyear. “In light of the envisaged transaction between Oce and Canon, weexpect strong interest from the media,” she said. “Oce’s presentationwill focus on highlights of the envisaged deal … we also anticipatemaking an important announcement on the day.”

Along withupdates, the Summit will also include a presentation from PiraInternational about The Great Print Debates – a panel debate that willtackle some of the critical issues facing the print industry today.
