7 Apr 2010. The US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania ruled in favour of QI Press Controls (QIPC) and denied the Motion for Preliminary Injunction brought by Quad/Tech. That Motion alleged that the QIPC register control system sold in the United States under the mRC label (that is, the mRC+ with micro marks) infringed Quad/Tech US Patent 5,412,577. The Order denied Quad/Tech's recently filed motions, including a motion in which Quad/Tech sought the Court's permission to add to its Complaint claims that the IDS (Intelligent Density System) and IRS (Intelligent Register System, which also uses registration marks) allegedly infringed the patent at issue. ...cont´d
