Letter to the Editor - As an established printing house we had been buying capital printing equipment only from International Vendors with a reputation for quality, commitment and reliability. In the year 2006 we made the first purchase of indigenously manufactured capital printing equipment on account of various considerations including quality assurance received from the vendor. We legitimately expected good workmanship and use of quality material inputs in the equipment to give us at least 5 years service without major wear and tear. Much to our disappointment gears wore off as if they were made of cast-iron within 6 months of constant usage. Vital assemblies repeatedly fowled and needed rectification causing both production loss and excessive wastage. ...cont´d
