The Ifra India technical conference in Goa — UV curing on coldset presses

The Ifra conference in Goa was a more compact networking event this year with almost as many speakers and vendors as there were participants. The technical subjects ranged from a discussion of CtP processless plates to using thinner grammage newsprint, and environment issues confronting the newspaper industry. However, the most interesting session was the one that compared the printing of enhanced colour or semi-commercial printing on coldset presses. The presentation by Roland Thees of Research Manager, Ifra, attempted to give a balanced comparison of adding heatset and UV systems to coldset newspaper presses.
