Nagpur. Vasantrao Deshpande Auditorium. 23rd and 24th September. Three shows of the Hindi play Cotton 56, Polyester 84 were cancelled. The cancellation of the shows was on a technicality: improper licensing. But if that was the case how does one explain, two armoured vans, plainclothes policemen, tearing down of banners of the plays, cutting off the power supply in the auditorium, messages hurtling through the airwaves via wireless, etc.?
