The heat set webs are coming

Finally, as the magazine boom takes off in right earnest there is fresh activity in the heatset web offset segment. For the last decade this has been the domain of used presses mainly from Japan and usually with 546 cut-offs that suit the printing of newspaper colour supplements. In fact newspaper growth in the last decade has dominated the growth of colour in periodicals and key to this growth has been the use of ROP colour or the printing of colour on standard newsprint with cold-set web presses. In some cases such as the The Hindu and The Deccan Herald group heat set inks have been used with an oven attached to what are essentially cold-set newspaper presses on both standard and high brightness newsprint.
