Trade issues / Frankfurt Book Fair

July 03, 2006

Publishing professionals the world over come to Germany at the invitation of the Frankfurt Book Fair — stopping in Hamburg, Berlin and Frankfurt. Eighteen visitors from fifteen countries will take part in the ‘Frankfurt Book Fair Fellowship Programme 2006’from 23 September to 8 October 2006. The ‘Frankfurt Fellows,’ young and highly qualified publishers and agents, will tour the German publishing centres of Frankfurt, Berlin and Hamburg as the guests of the Frankfurt Book Fair — including visits to S. Fischer, Rowohlt, Suhrkamp and BoD. They wrap up their stay as ‘guests of honour’ at the Frankfurt Book Fair.

The network of ‘Frankfurt Fellows’ is expanding annually. So far, about 140 people from over 40 countries have benefitted from this opportunity to obtain detailed insights into the German publishing industry and to set up contacts with other ‘fellows.’
