The WAN-IFRA India 2010 Conference, the premier event for Indian newspapers and news publishers, will be held on 15 and 16 September in the Pink City of Jaipur, the organisation announced at the close of a two-day seminar in Delhi on ‘Cost control and revenue opportunities’.

It will be the first time that the conference, the 18th annual event of WAN-IFRA South Asia, will be held in Jaipur.
The event will have a parallel ‘Production Conference’ and ‘Newsroom Summit South Asia’. The Newsroom Summit, to be held for the first time in the region, will be an extension of the Newsroom Summit that WAN-IFRA organises every year in Europe and the Asia Pacific region. The event will focus on convergent newsroom strategies and young reader concepts. The Production Conference will discuss technological innovations, process management and other contemporary newspaper production subjects.
Although the conference will not be accompanied by the acclaimed WAN-IFRA Expo India, which follows a biennial cycle and will be held next year, the event will offer sponsorship opportunities as well as a limited number of ‘information kiosks’. WAN-IFRA South Asia is inviting submissions of papers on the conference themes to be presented for consideration by the conference programme committee.
