India Packaging Show 2008 - A Preview

The India Packaging Show 2008, the largest Packaging event in the annual Indian trade show calendar, is being staged between the 7 -10 August, 2008 at the Pragati Maidan Complex at New Delhi. The event brings together the India Converting Show, the India Flexo Show, the India Corrugated Show, the India AIDC Show, the India Automation Show, the Food Technology Show and the Pharma Technology Show. The event is being supported by several trade organizations like the Association of Industrial Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators (AIMCAL), the Federation of Corrugated Box Manufacturers of India (FCBM), India Flexographic Technical Association (IFTA), the Hologram Manufacturers Association of India (HOMAI), the North India Corrugated Box Manufacturers’ Association (NICMA), North India Printers’ Association (NIPA), UP State Corrugated Box Manufacturers Association (UPCBMA), Delhi Printers’ Association (DPA), Flexible Packaging Entrepreneurs’ Welfare Association (FPEWA) and the Indian Biscuits Manufacturers’ Association (IBMA).

Concurrently, the organisers are also staging PackAge 2008, an international conference on Packaging on the 8 and 9 of August, 2008 at the Conference Complex at Hall No. 8 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. Also being organised concurrently on the 6 and 7 of August, 2008 at Pragati Maidan by the Association of Industrial Metallizers, Coaters and Laminators of the USA (AIMCAL) is their Converting School, which will feature a course on Web Handling and Converting. It will be Conducted by Dr. David Roissum of Finishing Technologies Inc. who is an internationally known specialist and trainer on the subject.

The 2007 edition of the show featured 213 exhibitors spread over 10,000 square meters (net stall area of about 4,000 square meters) and attracted 13,446 visitors. According to the latest information, bookings for this year’s show have already crossed 5,000 square meters of net stall space featuring about 350 exhibitors.

PSA and IPP are media partners for the show and will be located at Stall No. 56 in Hall No. 13, Pragati Maidan. Our next issue will carry an extensive review of the show and concurrent events.
