Frankfurt, 5 July 2007 - The worldwide network of “Frankfurt Fellows” grows and grows. This year will be the tenth edition of the Frankfurt Frankfurt, 5 July 2007 - The worldwide network of “Frankfurt Fellows” grows and grows. This year will be the tenth edition of the Frankfurt Book Fair's assistance programme for up-and-coming publishers. The 18 new Frankfurt Fellows are young, highly qualified publishing professionals and agents from 15 countries who will be touring Germany's publishing centres from 29 September to 14 October 2007 as the guests of the Frankfurt Book Fair. Their round trip ends with attendance at the Frankfurt Book Fair.
Organised annually in the run-up to the Frankfurt Book Fair, this prestigious programme focuses on the exchange of information, professional dialogue and networking for the upcoming generation of international publishers. More than 150 Fellows from 40 countries have already enjoyed the lasting benefits of this programme.

As of this year, the organisation of the Fellowship Programme is in the hands of Martina Stemann who since 2003 has been primarily responsible for the Frankfurt Book Fair's activities in Spain and Latin America. Martina Wolff de Carrasco has been managing the Fellowship Programme since it was launched in 1998 and now takes on new responsibilities relating to the Book Fair's key focus “Education for the Future”.
The Frankfurt Book Fair is the biggest book fair in the world – with more than 7,000 exhibitors from over 100 countries. It also organises the participation of German publishers at more than 25 international book fairs and is co-founder of the Cape Town Book Fair in South Africa. It maintains the most visited website worldwide for the publishing industry at www.book-fair.com. The Frankfurt Book Fair is a subsidiary of the German Publishers & Booksellers Association. |
