In the new printing plant, fast-running Mainstream printing presses will be running production. The output of 80,000 copies per hour will be in quarter fold or full size. With more than 14 million copies of the complimentary paper Les Gratuis printed each week and numerous regional newspapers; Imprimeries IPS is one of the leading newspaper publishers in France. The company prints at six locations, distributed strategically across the entire country.
The two direct printing lines each consist of a PrintStack CN-80 compensating stacker and a cross-strapper. Each line is loaded directly from the press by a Newsveyor shingle stream conveyor. A third-party bundling line takes over the back-up function. A NewsPal automatic palletizer collects the finished newspaper bundles automatically onto pallets. Each pallet load is then also fully automatically wrapped with stretch-film for protection of the products and stability.
Important criteria for the decision in favor of Müller Martini were the low maintenance costs, the space-saving solution, and especially the operational readiness that this installation provides. Production start for the new system is planned to start this year only. |
