IMPOSTRIP Page Pairing automates page-pairing and versioning tasks for newspaper and magazine production. It automates any kind of commercial printing imposition where all pages do not arrive at the same time. IMPOSTRIP Page Pairing is an ideal tool for hybrid production environments that print newspapers, magazines, inserts and commercial jobs.

It is also ideal for web printers who have press and paper imperfections that can be adjusted for in plate making. The IMPOSTRIP template builder uses Origami a virtual folding interface to plan plates for multiple and partial web rolls.

Ultimate's IMPOSTRIP Page Pairing is a software module designed for newspaper printing, magazine or book production, as well as any project requiring a high level of automation and efficiency for imaging plates. Using this tool, you do not need to have all your pages ready to start imaging.

The IMPOSTRIP Page Pairing module manages individual pages and assembles them automatically to generate a complete plate/signature for imaging, ensuring no waiting time at the RIP.

IMPOSTRIP Page Pairing also allows publishers to create an alternate version of their publications by automatically changing some pages to suit regional markets.

The different publications are organized with the concept of printing queues. Each queue represents a job or a publication, or a different version of the master publication. It has its own input folder and specific settings like naming convention, signature geometry and number of pages. It also offers the ability to release pages automatically when a flat is paired.

Multiple Outputs
Allows to output front or back or both automatically: a front side may have CMYK and the back flat may be in Black. In this case, the output of these flats cannot go to the same queue in the rip as one will be separated (Front) and the other one (Back) will be composite.

Up to 9 alternate versions: Allows you to output versions of the master - plus localized versions of some pages - also allows you to output up to 9 different workflows for CMYK or Black/Composite.

IMPOSTRIP Page Pairing is a PDF or PS workflow that does not depend on preprocessing the files through a RIP system. Finished PDF plates can be processed on any RIP at any location; a true saving for multiple editions, multiple print site publications.

Fanning Option: Allows the creation of profiles based on press specifications. Some units on the press may have alignment problems and may require shifting a color. The Fanning profile allows you to output to different presses without having to define and create specific templates for each press. To achieve fanning, IMPOSTRIP Page Pairing needs to use separated files in order to control the placement of colors.

Web Growth Option: Allows you to create a profile based on your use of paper eliminating the need to make extra templates. It is sometime necessary on web press to compensate images, to scale one or more colors and not others in order to achieve proper registration due to humidity or excess paper absorption of inks causing dot gain. Page Pairing offers this ability combined to Fanning to create profile that can address both Fanning and Web Growth. Each color can have its own scaling factors without having to create specific templates for each job.

Dynamic Templates: The need for creating multiple templates for many different kinds of jobs is dramatically reduced because of Dynamic Templates that can be used as a generic template with jobs that have different numbers of pages and different size pages. These Dynamic Templates can now be linked to hot folder automation in Impostrip.
