Press with innovative sheeting technology to be installed by high-quality sheetfed printer in France. Order follows impressive product demonstrations at drupa.
On July 21, 2008, Goss announced its first order for the new Goss M-600 Folia press launched at drupa 2008. The new press system based on M-600 web offset units and a new variable cut-off sheeter built by Vits for Goss, will be installed in early 2009 at a large sheetfed print house in France. No dryer or curing mechanism is used to produce sheets of variable sizes at 30000 copies an hour except for anti-setoff powder that is sprayed on the substrate while in a vertical position.
Jean Segura, director of sales at Goss International comments, "The new M-600 Folia press unleashes significant productivity and economic advantages for the production of high-quality B1 sheets printed both sides simultaneously. Utilizing sheetfed inks and consumables and featuring M-600 printing units that accommodate multiple-weight paper stock, this new press system offers a wide range of advantages to the industrial sheetfed printer looking for quality and cost efficiency."
As we wrote in our July issue we were impressed by the Folia demonstrations at Goss. On enquiry it was revealed that the press was ready for sale and it made us wonder if that was the case had we missed something since there was no news of its sales.
