Seoul Summit 2009, Korea

July 10, 2009

Designed to promote printing standardization in Asia, The Seoul Summit 2009 organised by our IMA partners Printway in South Korea, is due to take place in Seoul on the 23 and 24 July.  It is the first conference of its kind to be held in Asia.  Over the two days a host of high profile global industry experts will speak at the event in order to explore, debate and share their knowledge about the issues surrounding the ISO 12647-2 standard, which was developed by the ISO Technical Committee in 1996.

ISO 12647-2: A new universal standard for printers around the globe
Despite there being a general lack of knowledge about the ISO 12647-2 among printing professionals in Asia today, it is widely believed that the standard will begin to be employed universally by printers and vendors alike over the next few years.  To mark the significance of this predicted revolution, the Seoul Summit 2009 will seek to understand the role of international printing standards in the context of color management for repeatable and predictable color; and will debate and articulate the best approach in its implementation for printers in Asia.

The topicality of the theme and the calibre of the speakers; which includes representatives from Ugra, Fogra, IDEAlliance, RIT and ISO TC130 members; will attract much international interest for the Seoul Summit 2009.  Over 300 individuals are expected to attend and supporting organisations include the major Korean printing, packaging and design associations and institutions; and relevant participating bodies.  Duomedia is pleased to be sponsoring the event through Les Bovenlander, the agencies representative based in Hong Kong.
